Sept. 26: Rossmoor Bar, Rancho Cordova; MD: Ellie Lightfoot, lightfoot88@sbcglobal.net, 530-320-7120; CS: Jeff Thompson, eastsierra395@comcast.net.

Join us for GCO's first meet of what is usually an ideal fall season along the American River Parkway. Rossmoor Bar offers varied terrain with many challenges.

For more information about the park and a map and directions, click here. Parking costs $5, even when the kiosk is not staffed, which it usually is not, so bring change. For another map, click here (but go in on El Manto, not Rossmoor).

Oct. 1-3: BAOC's three-day Boggs Mountain A Meet at Cobb, south of Clear Lake. click here.

Oct. 23 (Saturday):  Mississippi Bar, Fair Oaks; W,Y,O and several advanced courses. MD: Jennifer Kerr, jkerrt1561@yahoo.com, 916-922-8671; CS: Dan Rathbun, dan@cal.net.

Mississippi Bar, on the north shore of Lake Natoma, has beautiful views as well as terrain that ranges from complex rock piles to shady, wooded oak hills. And there are some of those fascinating rock piles, left over from mining, that can provide some complex problems for advanced orienteers.

Dan Rathbun will be setting his first courses for GCO and they should be challenging! He is planning to provide White, Yellow, Orange and several advanced courses (Perhaps even all four!). Check back for details.

Nov. 21: River Bend Park, Rancho Cordova; MD: Ellie Lightfoot, lightfoot88@sbcglobal.net, 530-320-7120; CS: Stew Hintz, surfpup@starstream.net.
